PRONUNCIATION:

MEANING:

noun: In music, a note having the time value of one-sixteenth of a whole note.

ETYMOLOGY:

From Latin semi- (half) + quaver (an eighth note). Also called demiquaver. Also see hemidemisemiquaver.
